Substance Recovery Services
The Tides program is a Housing First model housing and treatment program for chronically homeless men in need of substance abuse treatment, supported by the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Bureau of Substance Abuse Services.

Men who have struggled with addiction and homelessness are given a safe and sober place to stay with culturally competent case management and treatment programs. It is the first step on the path of finding permanent housing, staying sober, and living independently.

The Housing First model recognizes that most people are better able to address their needs, from addiction treatment to physical health care and education, when they have a home.
Residents are better able to succeed in substance abuse treatment when they are not worried about finding a place to sleep. New Housing First programs have been so successful that they are being supported by the Department of Transitional Housing.

Men at Tides work with case managers to address their unique needs. The program includes substance recovery treatment, assistance securing permanent housing, and resources to find employment and become financially secure.
When men are ready to leave the Tides program, they are sober and prepared to live independently without the fear of becoming homeless again.
