Scattered Site Apartment Shelters
Jump to: Congregate Shelters | Homeless Family Services
With the support of a Department of Transitional Assistance contract, Willis Center provides temporary scattered site apartment housing for over 70 families each year in Worcester and Framingham.
Scattered site apartments give many families a safe and supportive place to stay while Willis Center's culturally competent case managers help families find permanent housing as well as jobs, health care, and education services. Families who would otherwise be living on the street, crowded on couches and floors with friends' and relatives or in emergency hotel placement live in independent apartments while working to obtain permanent housing and financial security.
If you or someone you know is in need of assistance securing housing please refer to the Department of Housing and Community Development's How to Obtain Housing Guide and contact your local Housing Authority. Click here for information on emergency shelter.
Though families in scattered site apartments live independently, they receive the same case management support as families in congregate shelters. Case managers help each family find permanent housing and acquire the resources they need to live happily after they leave the shelter.
